Basic hand treatment with nail polish:

 The student in question has normal nails and skin. In places there is also dryness. There were differences in the length of the nails between the nails. Cuticles were very dry, but not broken. There are no self-care habits. The goal of the treatment was to moisturize the cuticles and skin.

Plan: nail design -> bath approx. 10 minutes -> nail and cuticle care -> hand massage -> nail beautification: polishing 

Some of the nails were really short and it was difficult to work on them. Otherwise, no major challenges were found in the work. I think I did well overall! I got the cuticles cleaned and moisturized, which you can see from the pictures below.

As a home care guide, I recommend using hand cream and cuticle oil, preferably for daily use. I also raised the issue of protecting my hands from cold air and chemicals.

Basic hand care with varnish:

In the initial situation, it was noticed that the structure of the nails was normal, but some flaking was also noticeable. Flaking can be caused by e.g. dryness or stress on the nails. Dryness and breakage were found in the cuticles. The cuticles had partially grown over the nails, so the use of cuticle water in this treatment was important. The skin of the hands was also dry. Occasional use of cuticle oil and moisturizing cream as self-care habits. The goal in this hand treatment was to make the nails beautiful and moisturize the skin and cuticles.

Plan: shaping nails -> cuticle water -> bath approx. 10 minutes -> removal of cuticle water -> care of nails and cuticles -> hand massage -> nail beautification: varnish

The hand care was perfect and the cuticles were cleaned and the skin well moisturized. The varnish didn’t turn out as evenly as I would have liked, so I wasn’t so happy with that. More practice here then!

As home care recommendations, I gave the regularization of existing self-care habits.

Initial situation: The skin on the client’s legs was normal on the lower legs, dry on the feet. Skin changes include hyperkeratosis and calluses. One of the hands was sore. One nail had grown unevenly, some nails had thickened and ingrown. The nails had discoloration from the previous varnish. The changes in the legs were largely due to active exercise and the client was well aware of what self-care habits would help and he was very good at using them.

The aim of the treatment  was to treat skin and nail changes and to moisturize the skin.

Plan : bath for about 10 minutes -> treatment of nails -> treatment of hyperplasia -> thinning of nails -> treatment of cuticles

The end result  was very good and I managed to remove the client’s most painful head. The customer seemed to be particularly satisfied with that. Other calluses and corns were treated and the biggest discolorations were removed by thinning the nail.

As home care instructions  , continuing good self-care habits regularly and coming for a new treatment e.g. after a month.

Initial situation: The client has atopic skin and a disease affecting the treatment. Hyperkeratotic skin and pykymia were widely found, the skin was very dry all over and atopic dermatitis was found on the lower legs. The structure of the nails was normal, the nails were quite short and slightly ingrown. The client had no self-care habits, only nail shortening. This was her first pedicure ever.

The goal  of the treatment was to treat skin changes and moisturize the skin.

Plan : bath 5 minutes -> treatment of excessive horns and pimples -> treatment of nails and cuticles -> scratching -> massage -> final cream and cuticle oil

The end result was a significant difference in the skin of the feet. In my own work, I was happy with how I could be careful enough, but still handle even the most demanding areas.

As home care instructions , I recommended moderately shortening the nails with scissors, as well as moisturizing the skin of the feet regularly. The client could use a suitable foot cream, but I emphasized that any cream (e.g. the same cream as for the body) is better than nothing.

Even small things can have a significant effect on the well-being of the skin on your hands and prevent nasty skin changes. Be sure to protect the skin of your hands: protective gloves when using chemicals, warm gloves in cool and cold weather, and so on.

In addition to protection, it is a good idea to take care of your hands regularly. For example, weekly or a couple of times a month.

With these three points, you can make a hand treatment for yourself:

1. Shortening and shaping of nails
2. Treatment of cuticles
3. Moisturization of the skin

Let’s take a closer look at these:

1. Nail shortening and shaping

Cutters do no good to your nails. They easily break the top layer of the nail and cause e.g. nail flaking. The best way is to cut your nails with nail scissors. Do not cut too short. There are many different types of nail scissors and it is worth investing in good scissors as they are very long lasting.

Shaping is done after cutting the nails. Of course, if the nails have a length that you want to keep, you can skip cutting and just shape the nails with a file.

Remember: the best way to protect your nails is to file with only parallel strokes. Not back and forth by sanding. Choose the file roughness according to the thickness of the nails: for thin and fine nails a glass file, for normal sandpaper a file and for a thick metal file.

Treatment of cuticles

It is advisable to treat the cuticles after a shower / sauna to soften the cuticles. You can also take a bath in your hands (even a gentle skin soap can be used as a bath), for example in a small bowl where you hold your fingertips for a few minutes until the cuticles are soft.

After this, the cuticles can be gently pushed away from the top of the nail with the help of an orange stick. Ripe cuticles can be cut off with scissors. Never remove all the cuticles, even though this is often recommended – the function of the cuticle is to be on the edge of the nail to protect the nail.

Humidification

Cuticles can be moisturized with cuticle oil. Hand skin cream.

You can use a thinner fast-absorbing cream during the day, a thicker, more caring cream at night. Cotton gloves after applying the cream are handy.

If the skin of the hands is so dry that applying the cream stings, change the cream to a more oily one. The burning sensation is caused by the water contained in the cream, so a more oily cream does not sting in the same way.

So here are the most important things about basic hand care. If your hands are in really bad shape, intensive care can be a great help. Beauty salons often offer hand treatments that can be combined with other treatments, for example, if you don’t want to go for hand treatments alone – which is also really nice and relaxing. ?

This month’s favorite brand has definitely been the Korean BBIA, whose products I’ve been using a lot in a month. And no wonder the brand has absolutely amazing stuff that delights with its ease of use and durability!

Easy products for foundation

For the makeup base, I have chosen such easy, quick products that work with many makeup creams and looks. My favorite powder lately has been Nyx’s Can’t stop won’t stop stone powder in the shade Light* , which goes with all my foundations and doesn’t accentuate dry skin despite being a matte powder. The product is also suitable for applying concealer under the eyes

Another make-up base favorite is Lily Lolon’s Miami Beach Sunscreen Powder *. This is a hit! The shade is perfect, neither too warm nor too cold, nor too dark on fair skin. You get just the right amount of warmth and shading for your face without having to worry about brown beaches on your cheeks.

As a blush, I’ve chosen a cream-like blush a lot lately. A cream blush usually lasts better than a powder blush. If I want a really long-lasting blush, I add a light powder blush on top of the cream blush. BBIA’s Downy tangerine has been a super lovely shade for spring, as it turns slightly orange, as the name suggests. A really nice blush, with which you can get a gentle fade of color on the cheeks or a richer shade if you want. By the way, this product is being renewed, so you’ll have to wait a little longer to get renewed blushes in stores again!

In concealers, lightness and naturalness have been of interest lately. The super covering, matte concealers have not been used. Nuin cream Concealer has been a staple in the make-up drawer, because it covers just the right amount and is also suitable for covering pimples. The shade Ari is good under the eyes and on pimples, as it is very close to my own skin tone.

Long-lasting eye makeup

During the current month, eye make-up products have seen May Day and durable eye make-up tools. By durable I mean that the products stay on the face for the whole day! KimChi Chic’s Glitter sharts in the shade Super bloom* have been great for May Day holidays, when you want glitter easily on your face without a bunch of different tools. This comes with a self-adhesive, vaseline-like base that allows the glitter mass to stick to the face, hair and eyelids. These were a hit product for May Day snacks!

BBIA’s Never die mascara * is an almost cult-like mascara that lasts, holds bends and does not tarnish. I put this on whenever I want my lashes to look good all day long. The lashes have fibers that make the lashes look really long. The eyeliner of the same brand and series in shades of brown * has been a favorite of the past month when it comes to durable, eye-catching eyeliners. I also use this on the basis of the faded crop. I often do eyelashes with this cropping and fade out the dark brown cropping in BBIA’s Meringue palette . Quite an outrageous combo! That Meringue palette is one of BBIA’s best eyeshadow palettes, with great shades of cool brown and a good mix of matte and shimmering shimmers.

Perfect themed packaging

This collection has been completely honed in terms of packaging, shades and compositions. The products are packed in the most suitable cardboard for the theme, and the layouts of the product itself also fit the theme perfectly. This inspired me to start at the beginning of season one, as newer seasons have gone unnoticed by myself.

According to the TV series, the collection is divided into a darker side, which includes e.g. red and black lip gloss, a darker eyeshadow palette and red blush. The other side depicts Hawkins High School and is packaged accordingly.

The Void Palette * is a palette that reflects the gloomy side of the series and is my personal favorite for the look. The palette is available in black, gray metallic, red, green, cold light greyish brown and blue. The shades are pigmented, easy to work with and work well together. The price of the pallet at Cocopanda is € 41.90.

The lighter Hawkings Class of 1986 palette* is a lighter, more cheerful and colorful palette, which also has great pigments, easy fadeability and spreadability. I like the shade world of this palette maybe a little more than the darker palette. However, these are a great pair together, and by combining the palettes, you get a really nice variety of looks.

For the blush, I chose the lighter Friends don’t lie blush, which has a lovely fresh pink shade. This looks much more peachy on the skin than in the pan, which was really gratifying to notice, at least for me. A really beautiful blush, which is suitable for many types of makeup due to its shade. I couldn’t find the blush in Lyko’s or Cocopanda’s online store anymore, but you can still find it at Stockmann’s Mac points.

Of the lip glosses, I chose the wonderful ink shade Eerie El (still available from Stockmann). The shade is easy, a pigmented gloss suitable for makeup that is great to use alone or with a trimming pen. The other shade I chose was black Skull rock , which is apt over a dark red eyeliner or lipstick. The gloss is really good for autumn, for example, when there may be almost black tones on the lips.

I did two different styles of makeup with my makeup, one using a lighter palette and lip gloss and the other darker products. Pretty nice, themed look, so to speak!
